Benahavís luxury real estate ranked the most valuable in Spain

If you are a savvy real estate investor with your finger on the pulse of the property market in Southern Spain, you’ll be aware that luxury homes and indeed land for sale in Estepona, Marbella and Benahavís (the trinity of towns collectively known as the Golden Triangle) is consistently ranked as one of the most expensive, not only in Southern Spain but throughout the entire Peninsula. 

Recent research published by shows that the average price for luxury real estate in Q4 of 2022 was 1.86 million Euros. The article also named the exclusive residential development ‘La Zagaleta’ in Benahavís as being most expensive area to buy a house in southern Spain (and indeed the entire Spanish Peninsula). The second most expensive property hotspot on the Costa del Sol is Marbella, with Sotogrande and Estepona hot on its heels at number three.

A recent report tracking property price trends shows that the average price per square metre of property in Benahavís reached an all-time high of 4.089€ in February 2023. This represents a substantial 6.15% increase compared to the figure for May 2022 which stood at 3,852€ per square metre.  In comparison, average real estate prices in Marbella for the same periods stood at 4,309€ in February 2023, a slightly higher 10.74% increase compared to prices for May 2022.
